Brrrrrr........folks!!!! Wow, all the creatures are wondering if they woke up in Antarctica rather than South Texas!!!

In light of the weather, we will open a little later this morning.....we will be in around 11 am......this old house is beautiful, but it wasn't built for these temps......took us all day yesterday to get it to 58 degrees in here!! So we will hope that since the sun is making an appearance today it will warm up a little faster.......and of course, the coffee will be flowing!!!

Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!!

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!! It has been a wild three months since we opened here at Verdigris........response has been fabulous and we love all our new friends!!!!

We are a family business so we will be closed to celebrate with all the families from December 25th to January 7th and will reopen with our new days on the 7th. Our new days will be THURS - SAT 10ish to 6ish and SUN 11 - 4. We have decided that we will be closed the first part of the week so that we may have the time to search out new goodies for you, create new goodies for you, re-stock new goodies for you.......because this shop is really all about you!!! We will usually be here on Wednesdays, as well, to re-arrange and such, and we will have a new sign that hangs from the one by the street that will let you know that we are open......we will hang it out on most Wednesdays while we are working, so you are welcome to come in and shop then, too!! You may also call our shop to make sure we are here.

We now have the beautiful Candy Lights for sale.....come check them out.....they are awesome for Easter, parties, little girls rooms, and we are even getting a Superman themed one for little boys rooms.....these lights are a lot of decorating fun!!! And not just for kids, either, I have an aqua set around my mirror at home, just gorgeous!!!

We will also have more of the sweet doorknob windchimes that sold out.....the styles we had PLUS two new styles that are sure to excite you!!!

Plants are inside right now for the cold, blustery winter.....but Spring is coming and we will have a huge selection of beautiful plants for you then!!

We thank you all for making our first three months fabulous, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you when we reopen!!!

Makin' a List, Checkin' it Twice

Oh my, it's almost Christmas again!! It always sneaks up on me because we grow poinsettias and have them in the greenhouse from March to December so I am always a little amazed and thoroughly charmed when I walk through the houses and discover the poinsettias turning color!!

Come on in to Verdigris and check out all of the unique and special gifts we have for your list of loved ones, friends and even yourself (shhhh.....we won't tell if you don't!!).....big, small and everything in between, we have a whimsical mix of perfect ideas for just about everyone on it!! New shipment of the sweet tea towels has arrived and they are wonderful!! Adorable magnets make awesome teacher gifts or stocking stuffers ~ we have new pendants with soldered charms that are funny and sentimental ~ lots of vintage Christmas ornaments and new but made to look vintage, some very classy stuff there ~ antique fern lithographs framed in shabby reclaimed lumber and beadboard frames, oh, are they beautiful!!

And while you are here, check out the COOL colors of poinsettias we have this year!! Such a fun assortment, take a look at the pictures I took ~ they are not all quite ready, but I wanted you to get the idea ~ we will have them in the shop just after Thanksgiving ~ I might be able to sneak a few in before since they are coloring up so nicely!! All that great weather we have been having.......mmmmmmm!!

Grand Opening!!

Happy Halloween, everyone, let's get spooky!! Come on over to Verdigris on Saturday, October 31st, for our official Grand Opening!! We are going to have lots of fun, dressing up, munching on goodies, treats for the little ones.....and hopefully a very special surprise....I am waiting for confirmation so I will let you know....there, THAT got you all goose bumpy, didn't it???? :) Hope to see you all there (wouldn't want to hafta turn anyone into a BAT, now, would I??) COME SEE US!!!!

Beautiful Weekend!!

Hi everyone! It is going to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend in South Texas, so come on out and shop New Braunfels, eat at our fabulous restaurants here, like the Huisache and Myrons, have a chilled Chardonnay or a lovely red at Kork Wine Bar, visit my friends at the Downtown Antique Mall and by all means, come on over and visit us at Verdigris!! We have some gorgeous fall plants for sale, lovely garden mums for fall color, the most beautiful geraniums........come on in and check out the neat hummingbird feeders and windchimes, too! We received a lovely assortment of vintage linen kitchen towels - these are sweet, some with monograms, all thick and thirsty, great to use or to display!

It is not too early to start shopping for the people on your Christmas list, either, and we have some very unique gift ideas that you will not find anywhere else, from handmade collage quilties (these are fabulous, you HAVE to see them) to paperweights to cool folkart dolls and some really awesome jewelry!

Halloween is coming up quick, as well, and we have many vintage looking Halloween decor items, including some neat items to use if you are having a party instead of letting the little ones go door to door!
